About The Oxford Linguist

The Oxford Linguist is a student-led, digital, multilingual magazine. We want to publish any and everything to do with foreign language and culture. The primary way that we connect and communicate with others is through language. TOL is passionate about fostering a multilingual space which increases cultural and linguistic understanding and provides both language-learners and native speakers with a fantastic opportunity to delve deeper into topics which interest them, whether that be as a reader or a writer. Knowledge of foreign languages is an important, practical, and well-respected skill that you carry with you throughout life, and one that generates endless opportunities. Here in Oxford, we are incredibly proud to have a diverse range of languages and cultures represented within our student body. Through our brand-new, exciting multilingual and multicultural publication, The Oxford Linguist aims to highlight and celebrate this diversity, emphasise that language learning and multicultural engagement can be pursued well beyond your assigned programme of study, and begin to combat the relative lack of easily-accessible foreign language content available in the UK.
