About the painspace
THE PAINSPACE aims to develop an App to change the lives of people in chronic pain by connecting, guiding and educating sufferers to maximize self-empowerment and healing potential. Chronic pain is a huge problem worldwide. 1 in 5 Australians lives with chronic pain. The prevalence is projected to increase to 5 million Australians by 2050. Chronic pain affects 28 million adults in the UK, and chronic pain affects more Americans than diabetes, heart disease and cancer combined, corresponding to 100 million people. The problem is so widespread and enormous in cost to lives at a personal, national and economic level, that the World Health Organization has recognized chronic pain as a problem that needs world attention, and solving strategies. Chronic pain detrimentally affects peoples’ lives, it’s isolating and invisible. People who struggle with limitations of their current medical model need other complimentary methods to manage pain and cope in life. We the Co-founders, Angela and Sarah, know from 60 years combined lived experience of chronic pain, that the shared experience can help navigate this difficult landscape and begin the healing journey.
