About The Palestine Educational Opportunity Initiative
The Palestine Educational Opportunity Initiative, PalEd for short, was launched on August 12th 2025 by a group of University of Cambridge students - all who were on Gates Cambridge scholarships. The aim of PalEd is to support Palestinian students - whether they are in Palestine or displaced elsewhere in the world, through one-to-one personalised mentorship guidance, in their university admissions to international universities. Mentorship services provided by PalEd are free and online. In the first week of launching, over 120 mentors from top universities across the world signed up to support over 800 Palestinian students to achieve their academic dreams. The initiative is continuing to grow rapidly, and is open to volunteers who would like to join to support the effort.
