About The Phoenix Chapter of the Federal Bar Association

Welcome to the Phoenix Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. We are a group of approximately 285 members in private practice, government agencies, local law schools, the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Our Chapter is committed to serving the needs of federal practitioners and to supporting the federal judiciary. We advocate for the sound administration of justice in the federal courts and hold monthly CLE programs featuring presentations on a variety of legal topics by members of the federal judiciary, practitioners, and nationally renowned speakers. These programs are typically held on the third Thursday of the month from September through May, at the Sandra Day O’Connor U.S. District Courthouse. Our May lunch is the popular Big Cookie Olympics where participants test their knowledge of various procedural and evidentiary issues. In December, we hold our annual Holiday Party, at which we honor an individual for his or her service and dedication to the federal community. In addition to serving our members locally, our leadership is involved in the FBA at the national level. Every year, our leaders advocate to members of Congress the importance of filling judicial vacancies and providing adequate funding to the federal courts.
