About The Plural Association

The Plural Association Stichting (Dutch word for Nonprofit) is the first and only grassroots and peer-led nonprofit for the 1-3% of the world living with Dissociative Identity Disorder and ALL other forms of Plurality. We define Plurality as ''anyone who self identifies as having or being more than one individual within a single body. No matter the label(s) they use, to describe their unique and individual experience with Plurality.'' We cultivate inclusive safe(r) space communities for Plurals and support over 3000 Plurals on a regular basis. We provide training and education for both Plurals and the clinical community. We organize events including conferences, support groups, meetups and more. In 2021 we open The Plural Warmline, where Systems and their Headmates can share their stories and worries for free, with trained peer support Plurals, via email, live text chat, SMS texting, audio or video call. We know from research that DID/OSDD is highly underdiagnosed. That for most, while already in the mental health system, it takes 6-12 years to get correctly diagnosed with DID/OSDD. In those 6-12 years and before that, people also deserve support and this is where we come in. Our services do not replace clinical provisions, therapy, coaching or paid and dedicated 'one-on-one' peer support, but we instead offer a new and additional service(s) that can co-exist with currently available treatment and Plural specific resources and provisions. Everyone on our team volunteers and is Plural. The nonprofit, including The Plural Warmline depend fully on ally and community support.
