About The Polar
The Polar is an independent weekly newsletter divided into two sections. The first delivers a centrist synopsis of the week’s biggest events in politics, world affairs, and media. Each edition features seven key bullet points — just the facts, no analysis — with a humorous slant to keep it engaging. The second section is called "The Hot Topic – Served Cold," in which we present two “polar” opposite opinion pieces from contributors across the political spectrum — one “Left Side” and one “Right Side.” As avid news consumers, “we” (co-founders Kingsley Marin and Massimo Seriale) found that it was impossible to find digestible, unbiased news that offered diverse perspectives anywhere. The most reputable traditional news sources all hold strong bias — The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and so forth. Our objective is to appeal to Gen-Z — specifically, the type of consumer we refer to as “the people who can't sit through a movie without taking a TikTok break.” To address this, we make the week's news visually engaging, easy to understand, brief, and fun for our readers while also offering diverse perspectives on relevant political issues.
