About The Puppy Project
Ending the problem of Puppy Mills is one of the two principle goals of The Puppy Project, an initiative of The Veterinary Council for Breed Stewardship. Dogs from puppy mills are poorly raised, poorly cared for, not socialized, then shipped across the country to be sold in pet stores. Thousands get sick and die in transit. More die in pet stores. It's time to put an end to puppy mills once and for all by creating a trustworthy, dependable alternative. The second goal of the Puppy Project is to connect animal lovers with healthy, happy puppies that have been hand-raised by dedicated, humane breeders who have earned certification, after rigorous verification, from The Veterinary Council for Breed Stewardship.
