About The Purcell Gallery
Danny is a self-taught artist living and working in Bantry, West Cork where he is also the popular postman and subject of a recent RTE NATIONWIDE feature. He travels on his motorbike (with easel in tow) around the country to paint but always returns to the people and landscapes of West Cork to paint scenes which have led to some of his most sought after work. He is driven to capture the play of light that the Irish landscape offers and also to capture Irish culture through his depiction of West Cork characters
