About The Pursuit of History
The Pursuit of History® is the non-profit organization that engages adults in conversation about history and connects them with historic sites in their communities and across the country through innovative in-person and online programming. Our in-person annual events include History Camp Boston (the first, started in 2014), History Camp Colorado, History Camp Virginia, History Camp Valley Forge, and more in the works. In March 2020, we began a weekly discussion series with noted authors and historians. These are streamed every Thursday night at 8 pm (Eastern) and are archived. In August 2020 we did our first major online all-day event, a 12-hour-long America’s Summer Roadtrip to 12 historic sites and live Q&A with the staff of each one. The following year we held History Camp America, our first nationwide History Camp, an all-day event that included more than 25 sessions and a half-dozen tours of historic sites across the country. In-person History Camps returned in 2022 with History Camp Boston 2022. In the fall, History Camp America will welcome participants from across the country for our second all day, all online History Camp with sessions on a wide variety of topics and behind-the-scenes tours of historic sites in the US and UK. In May 2023, we will introduce our first curated day to explore a topic in-depth. “The Pursuit of History: Forging the Continental Army” will be an an exclusive opportunity for a small number of people to experience a historic site and learn about the individuals involved in a way never offered before. The following day we’ll hold our first History Camp Valley Forge with behind-the-scenes tours of Revolutionary Philadelphia the following day.
