About The Reality Project

Mental Health education videos shown throughout High Schools in the United States are outdated and desperately need to be updated in order to fight the stigmas surrounding mental health. By combating mental health struggles in awkward manners, school districts are increasing the stigma behind mental health. The solution to this problem is not more videos made by adults for kids, but accessible videos and activities made by students for students. This is where The Reality Project comes in: a video curriculum created by students with the intention of serving their peers. Our aim is to create accessible video-based lessons for students and YMCA's across the country.
