About The Red Tent Women's Initiative
Understanding that unresolved trauma can be the root cause of a downward spiral to addiction and incarceration, Red Tent has been conducting classes at the Pinellas County Jail since 2012. Women meet three times a week for a trauma informed program that heals. The results show that women return to jail in the first year at a rate of 24% compared to 44% nationally. And for those that do return, they have stayed out of jail longer once they've taken the Red Tent class.
