The Reserve Component (TRC) was founded by George McElwee, whose unique blend of experience as chief of staff to a senior member of Congress and as a Navy Reserve public affairs officer inspired the firm’s creation. These dual roles gave George unparalleled insight into the legislative process and a deep appreciation for the critical support systems that enable success in government and military operations. TRC embodies this philosophy by offering tailored solutions for government affairs to companies, trade associations, nonprofits, and state and local governments. As chief of staff to U.S. Representative Charlie Dent for nearly a decade, George developed a deep understanding of legislative strategy, policy development, and stakeholder engagement. This experience gave George a deep understanding of organizations’ challenges when advocating for their priorities and the tools needed to succeed on Capitol Hill. George’s time in the Navy Reserve further shaped TRC’s unique model. In the military, reserve forces are called upon to fill critical gaps in expertise and personnel, supporting active duty in completing their missions.
