About The School & Family Works

Supporting Schools, Strengthening Families, Enabling Change Creating communities of change for children facing adversity. The School & Family Works is a registered charity founded in 2009 by educational psychotherapist Mark Griffiths. We support children experiencing adversity to thrive at school by building collaborative, therapeutic communities between families and schools. We work with the two most powerful influences in a child’s life: their family and their school. Our flagship intervention, Family Group, brings caregivers, children, and school staff together in weekly, school-based sessions. These inclusive, supportive groups empower families to address the root causes of trauma, disengagement, and emotional distress and to co-create solutions that result in long-term, measurable change.
