With 30 uniquely appointed guest rooms, a rooftop bar overlooking the Allegheny Mountains, a locally inspired restaurant, and a flexible ballroom for events and conferences, the hotel serves as a vibrant hub for both the community and visitors alike. At the heart of this project is The Accessibility Lab—a first-of-its-kind space designed to showcase and test the future of accessible hospitality. From adaptive room technology to universally designed furnishings, the Lab serves as a dynamic environment for innovation, learning, and advocacy. It reflects our belief that inclusion should be embedded in every detail—from guest experience to design philosophy. Developed by The Disability Opportunity Fund and designed by renowned architects Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates, The Schoolhouse Hotel opened its doors in May 2022 as a bold statement: that style, comfort, and accessibility are not mutually exclusive—they’re the future of hospitality.
