Mission The mission of the Science Translation Foundation is to help create healthier individuals, families, communities, and institutions by improving access to and understanding of scientific information. Vision We envision a world in which better-informed stakeholders make evidence-based decisions in support of health and well-being. Values Our values encompass scientific independence and integrity, excellence, and funder/donor accountability. History The Science Translation Foundation (STF) is a reimagining of a previous nonprofit organization, which in April 2024 completed its call to action to combat misinformation and advance scientific understanding on COVID-19 through simplified content and messaging. While our mission remains unchanged, our scope has been expanded to include new services that are certain to provide novel public benefit to a broader range of organizations and stakeholders. Scope We view our role in science translation as a response to three critical challenges in the continuum of evidence: how to transform data into meaningful evidence, harness evidence to design and implement impactful action, and evaluate action to assure meaningful outcomes. Data into Evidence: Through rigorous data analysis, we illuminate hidden patterns and insights essential for informed decision-making. Evidence into Action: By designing and implementing targeted interventions, we bridge the gap between applied research and practical application. Action into Outcomes: Via comprehensive evaluation processes, we measure the effectiveness of interventions, ensuring that they deliver tangible benefits to stakeholders and drive evidence-based policy.
