About The Scientific Group
The Scientific Group is a Clinical Diagnostic and Life Science company with 41 years’ experience in sales and service in the science and healthcare industry. We supply, support and service diagnostic laboratory equipment and consumables to Pathology laboratories and provide research institutions and science companies with a comprehensive range of high-tech equipment & associated consumables as well general lab reagents and consumables. Effective 01 March 2015, we are now a wholly owned subsidiary of Ascendis Health. The Scientific Group continues to trade as a separate legal entity and is managed with very strict adherence to correct corporate governance and discipline. The acquisition by Ascendis Health places TSG in the best possible position for further growth and sets the stage for even greater achievements. Our company comprises four sales divisions and one service division: 1.The Clinical Diagnostics Division has a core structure servicing state and private pathology laboratories in the form of clinical analysers and diagnostic reagents. 2.The Life Science Division caters for a wide array of research applications with specialized equipment, consumables and reagents. 3.The Point of Care Division provides first world near patient testing technologies to meet the growing need for patient diagnostics in a more rapid and patient friendly manner. 4.The Export Division focuses on supporting all sales and marketing activities outside the borders of South Africa. We have one of the largest service departments in the industry with our engineers having the appropriate electronic qualifications and who are trained by the respective Principals. All engineers have been in the industry for many years thus obtaining vast experience and specific engineers are dedicated to specific equipment. Our engineers are registered with the Clinical Engineers Society of South Africa (CEASA). We are ISO 9001:2008 certified and level 2 B-BBEE compliant.
