About The Senses Project
What Do We Do? "We help our clients develop the skills they need to navigate life themselves." We provide this through our services for young adults with Autism, Aspergers, ADHD, Sensory Processing, and Mental Health needs. How Do We Provide this? We offer 2 services, our: Independence Support Programme: - The programme helps our clients learn, grow, and adapt to independently living with their own challenges, while achieving their own goals in life. This support is typically provided over an average of 2 years, transitioning toward working opportunities and gradually reducing professional support needs. Workshops by The Senses Project: - Our Workshops are a tailored option if you can access a group setting. This helps young adults access a unique style of workshop which naturally creates social opportunities and a chance for participants to learn, share and inspire from their own experiences relative to the focus subject. Workshops are a shorter term progression option, designed to inspire, excite, kickstart your independent journey. Why we do it? Founding The Senses Project in 2018, Joe and Dave, have seen the gaps between Adult and Children Services. Our goal is to keep developing and creating new opportunities for young adults to feel understood, inspired, and to have fun. We want our clients to enjoy their life, reach for their goals, and be "marvellous". Our 10 Year Vision: Our Vision is to see an education and social system which is starting to both, recognise and utilise tailored options to support Young Adults to feel listened to, accepted, confident and inspired to achieve. We plan for our Workshops to become and available opportunity for Young Adults, in colleges and universities across of Dorset and Hampshire. We visualise these workshops being an interactive, inclusive and cost-effective go to service for Young Adults to develop the skills to access work and live independently.
