The Skiers Trust is the UK's oldest and widest reaching national snowsports charity for young people. The power of snowsports to enhance and even change lives cannot be underestimated. It has the almost unique potential to enthuse, raise expectations and generate lasting confidence. Whether it be in supporting the next generation of British competitors in making it to the world stage, giving young people with special educational needs, physical disabilities or from disadvantaged backgrounds that life chance, snowsports has a very special way of helping them. Sir John Hunt of Everest fame was instrumental in creating the Skiers Trust. He was passionate about developing young people and had been the founding Director of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme which he led for 10 years before the Skiers Trust was born. His knighthood was for his work for young people. These values remain at the heart of the Skiers Trust today.
