About The Sloopy Works | GoAERO
The GoAERO (Aerial Emergency Response Operations) team exists to bring together students and professional faculty/staff to design, build and fly Ohio State’s entry in the international GoAERO Prize. The GoAERO Prize is a three-year global competition beginning in 2024 with over $2 million in prize money to be awarded, aimed at bringing the world’s brightest minds together to focus on a singular mission: saving lives. Teams participating will design and build the first autonomy-enabled Emergency Response Flyer, a high-tech aircraft that will help response teams reach people, places and crises faster and easier than ever before. The Emergency Response Flyer will be a portable aircraft that can be deployed by first responders to natural disasters, medical emergencies and humanitarian crises. We provide an opportunity for team members with a background in aerospace, mechanical, computer science and electrical engineering to demonstrate engineering skills and experiment while solving a societal need.
