The Soap Factory: More Than Just an Event Venue At The Soap Factory, we are a vibrant community project focused on sustainable development that goes beyond hosting events. Our space offers a unique blend of culture, creativity, and sustainability through a variety of programs and features: Artist Residency in collaboration with the Gray Area Foundations for the Arts: We provide housing and a creative space for both local and visiting artists, fostering connections with the community and encouraging artistic exchange. Gardening Program in Partnership with Urban Corps and Miramar College: Our gardening program, developed in collaboration with Urban Corps, California Conservation Corps, and Miramar College, equips young adults with essential skills in sustainability and gardening. Participants earn 2 UC/CSU college credits upon completing this 100-hour course. The program also supplies organic ingredients to local food vendors and contributes to our farm-to-table ecosystem. Versatile Event Spaces: With over 40,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor space, The Soap Factory can accommodate events ranging from intimate gatherings of 50 people to large-scale events with up to 2,200 attendees. Our venue is perfect for cultural events, art shows, fundraisers, private parties, music concerts, and more. Local Food Vendors: Our venue hosts permanent food vendors who offer health-conscious meals crafted with quality ingredients. Some of these ingredients are grown on-site, supporting a farm-to-table ecosystem. The Garden: Featuring a 4,500-gallon aquaponics system—one of the largest in San Diego—and 15 garden beds, our garden is a cornerstone of our commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
