About The Soccer Foundation of Charlotte

Soccer Foundation of Charlotte, Soccer FC, is a non-profit organization that provides free after-school soccer and literacy programming to Title 1 elementary schools in the Charlotte Mecklenburg area. Our goal is to give every child in Charlotte a chance to play, regardless of their socioeconomic status. We also aim to improve literacy for our players by talking positively about reading, engaging them in an active read aloud every practice, and building their home libraries. Each week every child gets to choose a book to take home with them to keep. We have been announced as one of Charlotte FC’s, the new Major League Soccer team in Charlotte’s, main community partners and are set to serve over 450 students this school year.
