The STAR Project is an award-winning community organisation that delivers long-lasting positive social outcomes. We work with vulnerable or disengaged individuals and families facing disadvantage. We facilitate opportunity and aspiration, boost life chances, engender community ownership and celebrate every success. Our Community Matters strategy focuses on 4 goals: 1) Tackling the impacts of poverty, deprivation and associated stigma 2) Improving resilence within our community 3) Exemplifying best practice in policy development, research and innovation 4) Embodying thought leadership in our campaigns for social justice Some examples of our work: Pantry Plus Where fighting poverty meets tackling climate change. Complimentary to our pre-existing free food and essentials support, Pantry Plus is designed to tackle the growing dependency on free food by providing access to affordable healthy choices. Creative Group Interventions In the past 12 months over 4000 community members have participated in over 300 workshops and group sessions- improving skills, knowledge and understanding and helping families to feel more equipped to overcome the challenges they face and increasing confidence and aspiration.
