Toys & Games can be Powerful Tools Used to Challenge and Sharpen the Mind At The STEAM Room, our goal is to provide parents and educators with the toys and games that will ignite their children’s critical and creative thinking skills. Sourced from all over the world, our carefully selected range of award-winning products will excite and engage children while stimulating their minds. My name is Gina Noonan and along with my husband Mike and our son Harry I made the permanent move toSwitzerlandin2008. After attending many informational sessions at my son's school, I became intrigued by all the new ideas, theories, and educational thinking that has changed so much from when I was at school. Today the need to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are at the forefront of education. I was fascinated by the educational revolution that was going on at the very best and most forward-thinking schools in the world. It is an exciting and enlightened time for a child to be a student and I became interested in what I could do as a parent to help support the learning process in the classroom. For nearly ten years now I have been researching and testing educational toys and games from all over the world. I have been corresponding, speaking and meeting with creators and manufacturers; most recently at the Nuremberg and New York Toy Fairs. Early on I became captivated by the STEM concept and by the unique approach taken by developers like Debbie Sterling emphasizing engineering for young girls. I have been motivated by the messages of Sir Ken Robinson advocating the importance of creativity and Ilana Ben-Ari's enthusiasm for toys as tools to develop skills such as empathy, communication, and collaboration. I take great pride in being able to offer this exceptional selection of products to families and schools. My search continues for the most innovative toys and games and I will be adding new products to the range as they become available.
