About The Strivers' Network

The Strivers’ Network is a youth-led nonprofit working to empower Sri Lanka’s high-achieving students from underresourced backgrounds (underfunded public schools, first-generation, low-income, ethnic/gender minorities, etc.) to achieve upward mobility through a world-leading post-secondary education. We aim to achieve this through islandwide outreach, high-touch mentorship, leadership development, and youth-led advocacy. Our flagship program is The Scholars’ Pipeline, through which we identify 25 of the best and brightest Strivers from around the country and offer them individualized guidance on applying to the world’s leading universities while imparting changemaking skills such as empathy, teamwork, and leadership. Across 3 years, our 53 Scholars have earned over $4 million worth of scholarships to the following universities: • Amherst College • Bowdoin College • Brown University • California Institute of Technology (Caltech) • Carleton College • Cornell University • Haverford College • Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) • Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) x 2 • National University of Singapore x 2 • Northwestern University • University of Oxford x 2 • Princeton University • Vanderbilt University • Wesleyan University • Williams College So far, we have reached students from 16 districts and 105 schools. Our alumni have come from Colombo, Galle, and Kandy and are currently studying a wide range of subjects, from comparative literature to electrical engineering to public policy. We’re building an intergenerational community of students, professionals, and academics, all with a common vision of a prosperous Sri Lanka. Join us in our fight!💜
