The Suder Foundation exists to advance generational transformation through higher education. There are millions of past, current and future first generation college students (FirstGen) in the United States. Historically, FirstGen students have been largely an unrecognized and under-represented voice across the American landscape. We believe in their potential. We know the determination and strength of character born of their experience. We believe they have a deep reservoir of talents and gifts and when provided the support they need and deserve, there is no limit to what they can achieve. This is not charity, it’s an investment in a more diverse and prosperous future for our country. That is how our Suder Foundation was born. We believe in the power of Catalytic Philanthropy and invest in people as much as we invest in their ideas that serve others. We want our investments – financial, and of our time, talent and energy – to empower the transformations of tomorrow, today. As we look to the future, we will work to build systemic partnerships and an advocacy network connecting FirstGen champions across education, business, health, non-profit, philanthropy, social and political activism, thought leadership, spiritual life and the arts.
