About The Support Group
The Support Group is the umbrella organization for companies that are experts in their respective fields within the event industry. By linking these specialists to each other and supporting them with advice and entrepreneurial insights, The Support Group strives to further professionalize the event landscape. The Support Group was established in 2009 within the ID&T group. This internal department was at that time aimed at merging the operational team and various production companies with expertise to create synergy. This collaboration has led to the production of highly prestigious dance events, both nationally and internationally. In 2010, this progressive, international way of operating was rewarded with the Dutch Logistics Award. After a long period in which Marcel Elbertse, founder of The Support Group, worked as Operational Director within the ID&T Group, his entrepreneurial nature embraced a new opportunity in 2017. He took over ID&T’s The Support Group, together with partners Dick van Berkum and Duncan Stutterheim, both also experienced entrepreneurs within the event industry. The exchange of knowledge and collaboration between widely different disciplines like Décor, Food & Beverage and Production ensures innovative steps that further professionalizes the event industry on an operational level, which is what The Support Group aspires to do.
