About The Teddy Maloney Foundation
The Big Dog Classic is an annual golf tournament held each October in loving memory of Edward “Teddy” Maloney III, who tragically lost his life on September 11, 2001. What began as a way to honor Teddy’s life, values, and love for family, friends, and sport has grown into a meaningful tradition rooted in community, remembrance, and giving back. Every year, the event brings together Teddy’s family, classmates, teammates, and friends for a day of golf, connection, and reflection. Hosted at Harrison Meadows Golf Club in Harrison, NY, the Big Dog Classic is the signature fundraiser for the Teddy Maloney Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All net proceeds from the event support the Teddy Maloney '88 Scholarship at Proctor Academy—Teddy’s alma mater in Andover, New Hampshire. The scholarship provides financial assistance to student-athletes who embody Teddy’s passion for life, leadership, and sportsmanship. To date, the foundation has raised more than $500,000 and directly supported several students in achieving their academic and athletic goals. The Big Dog Classic continues to grow in impact each year, serving as a powerful tribute to Teddy’s legacy and a source of opportunity for the next generation.
