About The Thinking Project (SEL/inquiry education)
The Thinking Project helps educators and students transform stressful moments into clarity, creativity, and connection—using Inquiry-Based Stress Reduction (IBSR) and aligned micropractices to work with stressful thoughts. We work directly with teachers to question the thoughts behind overwhelm, frustration, and stuckness—supporting real-time insight and creativity. As teachers grow more confident navigating challenging moments, many begin sharing these practices with their students. Led by a small team—an Executive Director and a working board—we’re piloting this work across the U.S. and internationally, learning what helps self-inquiry become a sustainable and supportive part of everyday school life. We’re not a traditional program. We’re building living practices that help people stay honest, open, and grounded—even in the midst of stress, conflict, or uncertainty. If you’re an educator curious about new ways to navigate tough moments—or a leader interested in what helps transformative practices stick—we’re here to support you, and we’d love to learn with you.
