About The Thomas Matthew Miloscia Foundation
If you never had the opportunity to meet Thomas Matthew Miloscia, it is your misfortune. If you did have the pleasure of meeting Thomas, you will completely understand why we formed The Thomas Matthew Miloscia Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) in his honor. The Foundation will strive to carry on Thomas’ values and spirit in all we do while providing assistance to families fighting cancer. Thomas was not your typical teen or young man. He was able to transcend generations and had the ability to comfortably communicate with both young and old. From a very young age, Thomas exhibited his generous nature. After his second birthday party, he asked his mom if she would give his unwrapped gifts to the children at a shelter. Thomas was always willing to lend a hand with nothing expected in return. I recall on one hot summer day, Thomas offered to help my sons spread mulch around our yard without expecting to get paid. That is not the behavior of your typical teen, but it was classic Thomas behavior. His manners were impeccable, referring to me as “Mrs. Milano” or “Mrs. M” and always holding open doors or offering to carry packages and greeting me with a kiss on the cheek and warm hug. That type of behavior may seem old fashioned or out of place for some youth of today, but for Thomas it was natural. Sadly, in 2014 Thomas was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Thomas remained true to his spirit throughout his battle, always concerned with others before himself. Tragically, on October 15, 2015, Thomas passed away leaving a tremendous void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Our mission at the Foundation is to carry on where Thomas left off. We will endeavor to assist families who are struggling with their battle against cancer and other organizations who support those families. The Thomas Matthew Miloscia Foundation, Inc. will do our best to honor Thomas by our charitable endeavors. ~ Michelle Milano
