The Through Her Eyes Project is an innovative nonprofit dedicated to telling the stories of girls and women who play sports around the world, train them to tell their own stories, and support and fund their play. The project captures the stories of how sports empowers girls and women to become change agents in their communities and shares these stories both online and on the ground. By telling the stories of girls and women who are playing and want to play sports, by getting more girls and women on the courts and fields, by teaching them how to tell their stories, and by supporting them with cross cultural social and financial/equipment assistance, the project works to empower, train, and assist. The project aims to share these stories both online and on the ground, to motivate a world of stronger women, families and communities. It presents the thoughts, voices and faces of women of all ages, races, levels of skill and socioeconomic backgrounds. It examines and explores how involvement in sports affects development by expanding social opportunities and demonstrates that women and girls in every country, and specifically developing countries, gain much more than physical strength when they play sports.
