The Travelling Artisan is Tullio Innocenti. Having trained with the finest shirt makers in Italy, Tullio is an industrial designer and professional pattern maker who after years of product development for Ralph Lauren is re-defining the perfect Bespoke shirt for today's discerning gentleman, or indeed lady. Putting together traditional Italian craftsmanship with his scientific approach, Tullio translates the posture and form of each client onto their pattern. He creates a unique blend of the finest hand stitching technique on earth with an unprecedented pattern making process and attention to detail, that ensures that each shirt is a piece of art. Every Travelling Artisan shirt is conceptualised with the client during the first meeting. Design, fabric, and style features are discussed and chosen ahead of pattern development. It is at that point that Tullio's scientific approach kicks in. Using special tools to measure the slope of the shoulder he is able to translate the client's gradient onto the pattern. He will then also adjust the pattern to achieve balance between front and back. The next stage is creating a muslin for the fitting process. Each muslin is initially fitted on the body. Next the sleeves are set to the body in order to achieve a balanced sleeve cap. It is at this stage that the craftsmanship of the shirt can begin.
