About The University of Edinburgh Mechanical Engineering Society

The Mechanical Engineering Society at the University of Edinburgh is a student-run academic and social organisation. Society is open to everyone, however, it concentrates on Mechanical Engineers. Society's goal is to bridge the gap between academics and industry by holding a variety of events and giving industrial connections. We have hosted multiple academic seminars from industry leaders, as well as CV and cover letter workshops, to ensure that our members are well-prepared to land a job, internship, or scholarship. We understand that studies may be stressful, therefore we make every effort to organise social activities for members to unwind and socialise. We plan to organise ceilidhs, pub quizzes/crawls, lunches, and athletic activities, and expand on these in the coming semester and beyond. We take pride in encouraging members of the University of Edinburgh Mechanical Engineering Society to seek internships, placements, and eventually careers in industry and academia, while also encouraging students to connect with other members of the Mechanical Engineering community in both formal and informal settings.
