The Pakistan Society at the University of Manchester aims to provide a platform of cultural exchange, social networking as well as relevant educational and professional opportunities for all current and prospective Pakistani students, at the University of Manchester. Home to a multitude of diverse food spots, theme parks, shopping heavens and other student-friendly attractions, Manchester unlike many other places in the UK has a huge potential for easily becoming your home away from home. In the light of such exciting prospects and a guaranteed great upcoming three years for you, we at the Pakistan Society strive to ensure your experience does not go to vain in the face of a sense of alienation or because of cultural barriers. We hope and strive to act as your platform, your voice and your little community away from home, and ultimately to provide you with that sense of belonging that every student away from Pakistan, whether temporarily or for good, craves. We also aim to bridge the gap between ourselves and other student communities, nationalities and societies, and hence share our culture, values and traditions, as well as remove misconceptions regarding these, with all those around us.
