About The University of Sheffield Investment Society (USIS)
The University of Sheffield Investment Society was formed in 2007 with the purpose of bridging the gap between the classroom and the workplace through numerous student-led projects. The society is made up of energetic and self-aware students who are keen to establish a tradition of sharing our acquired knowledge of global markets, professional services and careers in finance. Members learn about careers in banking and finance through workshops, presentations and trading competitions. USIS is the fastest growing non-academic society on campus that boasts having members that span across sixteen different academic disciplines. We aim to cultivate this growth in our membership base over the coming years, as competition for internship and graduates positions becomes increasingly competitive. This has directly contributed to our members having an increased desire to undertake research, internships and placements as early on in their career as possible.
