About The Urban Worm Community Interest Company
THE URBAN WORM COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY is a social enterprise commited to promoting and facilitating worm farming as a ecological solution for organic waste management and agriculture. We provide educational workshops and consultation for organisations, enterprises and institutions. Worm farming, otherwise known as vermiculture is an efficient and cost effective solution for managing organic waste, transforming it into a nutrient rich fertiliser. Worm manure contains all 14 nutrients essential for healthy plant growth and disease suppression, eliminating the need for harmful and costly synthetic fertilisers. We have designed components to convert wheelie bins into worm farms, providing simple and alternative solutions to landfill. 'Worms are more powerful than the African elephant and are more important to the economy than the cow' -Charles Darwin
