About The US Green Building Council ~ Student Chapter, The Univ. of Akron
Students all across America are passionately pursuing sustainability issues on their campuses and in their own lives. USGBC-UA wants to lead by example and take action on our campus. There are many steps we are taking to begin our Green transition, from advocating the increase of sustainability lecture in design, construction, and engineering courses & the addition of two sustainable practice courses to working with the surrounding community in creating a real life EcoVillage and multiple other green structures/projects. The USGBC-UA Student Chapter has been created to support student's creativity and help them develop each of their leadership strengths. And while we have put some of our ideas into practice to get us going, we’re looking forward to the ideas you come up with to help us make the next leap toward making our campus and community more Green.
