About The Vine School

The Vine School offers the classic Ambleside Schools International curriculum for Grades RR - 7 students in a Biblical Christian environment, by applying Charlotte Mason's teaching philosophy and practice in the education of children. The Ambleside International curriculum can best be described as offering children "a living education" which "empowers students to author lives that are full and free — rich in relationship to God, self, others, ideas, work, and created world. It provides the tools needed to live well in all aspects of life — personal and professional, present and future." As an Ambleside member school, The Vine School aims to ensure that children who receive "a living education" grow in relationship with the knowledge of God, humankind, and the universe. In doing so, children are more likely to become people who give back to society, care for their kin, love their neighbours, and cultivate rich intellectual and spiritual lives. In small classes of no more than 16 children, teachers at The Vine School know each child personally. The natural curiosity of a child is engaged through a "living books", nature walks and great art & music. The Vine School's classrooms are peaceful, attractive spaces where children are loved, accepted and supported in a non-competitive atmosphere. Teachers diligently train pupils to pay attention, take turns, listen to others, speak truthfully and practice self-control - all of which leads to success in learning.
