Specialising in high-quality pre-owned engagement rings, The Vintage Ring Co. was co-founded by award-winning jewellery designer and ethical jewellery movement pioneer Arabel Lebrusan and jewellery journalist Claire Roberts. One of the world’s first ever Fairtrade Gold licensees, Arabel Lebrusan has dedicated almost 20 years to ethical jewellery. Since completing a Master’s in ethical jewellery design at Central Saint Martins, she has delivered her very own TEDx talk, travelled from Sri Lanka to Colombia, Spain and French Polynesia to learn first-hand about sustainable mining and production, and acquired a number of accolades behind her transformative designer brand, Lebrusan Studio. Previously Managing Director of The Jewellery Editor, then Editor of Graff's Graffiti Magazine – amongst other ventures - Claire Roberts has been writing about jewellery for over a decade. She has been fascinated by design, craftsmanship, cuts and colours for as long as she can remember. On meeting in 2017 and discovering their shared passion for jewels from the past, Arabel and Claire began asking: Why does buying vintage jewellery often feel like a minefield of unfounded claims and wildly varying price tags? How do you know that what you’re buying is ever authentic? Why are there so few places to buy affordable vintage engagement rings? Why aren’t more sellers exploring the stories behind their rings? Bringing together an array of expertly-selected pre-loved engagement rings – each rigorously checked, honestly priced, and sold with a third party certificate of authenticity – The Vintage Ring Co. was born out of a desire to answer all those questions.
