About The VIP - Violence Intervention Project
At the Violence Intervention Project (The VIP), we believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive, free from violence and social barriers. Founded in 2017, the VIP is a registered nonprofit dedicated to supporting vulnerable and at-risk youth across West London, particularly those affected by violence and complex social challenges. Our mission is to provide therapeutic interventions, community outreach, and research-driven support that empowers young people to overcome obstacles, build resilience, and achieve their full potential. We take a shame-informed, relationship-based approach, recognising that lasting change comes from understanding the root causes of violence and fostering trust. Our team delivers tailored therapeutic support, outreach, and resources to help young people address issues like shame, respect, and trauma. We are trained in Adaptive Mentalization-Based Integrative Treatment (AMBIT), ensuring our care is flexible, collaborative, and attuned to each individual’s needs. Through our public health approach, we treat youth violence as a preventable issue, focusing on early intervention, education, and community engagement. Research, monitoring, and evaluation underpin all our work, driving innovation and best practice. We are committed to sharing our learning with the wider sector, building networks, and influencing policy for greater impact. The VIP is guided by a diverse board of trustees with expertise in youth work, law, finance, HR, and marketing. Together, we are dedicated to creating safer communities and inspiring positive change. Join us in empowering young lives and building a brighter, safer future for all.
