About The VoiCEs project

Children are one of the most fragile segments of the population and they might be disadvantaged in expressing their opinions, experiences, or preferences. As stated by the Manual for Human Rights Education with Young People, “the child has the right to express freely views on all matters affecting him/her, and the child’s views should be given due weight”. VoiCEs project aims to strengthen children's involvement in evaluating and improving the quality of care in children’s hospitals, considering their opinions in modulating child-friendly care. The project will include the design, implementation, and evaluation of a Patient-Reported Experience Measures (PREMs) Observatory for children on hospitalization. The 4 children’s hospitals - Children’s University Hospital in Latvia, Meyer Children’s Hospital in Italy, Helsinki University Hospital in Finland, Erasmus Hospital in the Netherlands – in collaboration with Sant’Anna University in Italy, UNICEF, European Children’s Hospital Organization, and other partners will implement a PREMs Observatory collecting at least 16 000 children’s feedback. The obtained results will be analysed and used to create the most positive children’s experience in health institutions both locally and internationally.
