About The Warped Collective

We are an ensemble of multidisciplinary artists who seek to cultivate an expansive vision of live performance and a deeper understanding of theatrical performance practice beyond the traditional western model. We are a creative community that encourages and celebrates a diversity of thought and artistic facility. We seek to create collaborative working environments where individuation is supported, and everyone can thrive within the larger ensemble. We are curious, eager and respectful of each other’s ideas. We make work that seeks to shift conversations surrounding live performance from the conventional to the unorthodox. We endeavor to create experiences where audiences are delighted and challenged, stimulated and transported, submerged and elevated. We invite audiences to examine preconceived notions about what theatre is and can be. We commit ourselves to the active exploration of innovative contemporary theatre practice in order to enrich ourselves as artists and makers, and to bring scintillating original work to our community.
