EMPLOWERING AND TRANSFORMING LIVES. The Weingart Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that provides individuals experiencing homelessness with essential tools necessary to stabilize their lives, secure income, and find permanent housing. Our mission is to empower and transform lives by delivering innovative solutions to break the cycle of homelessness. Located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles' Skid Row, the Weingart Center offers a host of services inside the agency's historic 11-story building. Free or low-cost on-site programs and services include: transitional housing, substance abuse treatment, medical and mental healthcare, job training and placement, & help securing permanent supportive housing. As one of the best comprehensive human services organizations in the western United States, the Weingart Center is a unique agency that is committed to providing individuals experiencing homelessness with the basic tools necessary to stabilize their lives, secure income, and find permanent housing. We do this through comprehensive wraparound services that are tailored to an individual’s need, and are designed to break the cycle of homelessness. The Weingart Center provides direct services to thousands of economically disadvantaged individuals in the greater Los Angeles area, offering programs uniquely tailored to meet the needs of this diverse population. Whatever the obstacles—debt, addiction, a criminal record, mental illness, or physical illness—we help our clients overcome these challenges and clear the way for a fulfilling life.
