The White House Gift Shop, Est. 1946 was established September 9, 1946 as the White House Flower Fund. In November, 1950, by permanent order of President Harry S. Truman the White House Flower Fund became the White House Security Fund which soon, thereafter, became the White House Gift Shop. Back then, the White House Gift Shop was located in the basement of the White House and in the 1960s relocated to the Executive Office Building in an area known as the old War Department. Consequent of security reasons, post-9/11, the White House Gift Shop went online only at this location for your convenience and accessibility. You may be interested to know that here at the White House Gift Shop, our missions are funded the same way you fund your own projects at your home or business -- through creative, honest, and hard work. No government funds or resources, direct or indirect, are ever used in the operation of the White House Gift Shop. We are often asked but do not accept donations. Many friends have asked about my experiences and visions relative to future gifts, collectibles, and philanthropic goals for the White House Gift Shop. Our core goal is provide you and global friends of America with Presidential, White House and Diplomatic gifts and collectibles while doing our best to do good for others.
