About The William Ellis Trust

The William Ellis Trust is an independent charity which works to bring together the supporters and alumni of William Ellis School for the benefit of current William Ellis pupils and the wider north London community. The Trust is a unique charity because we have a really ambitious and visionary strategy, we have the confidence we will achieve our goals because we have the resources to do it, and we have the ability to do it through working with a small state secondary school for boys in north London. The new strategy of the William Ellis Trust focusses on working with the school’s pupils, staff and alumni to improve the educational experience, grow future opportunities for the boys after leaving school, and sustain the school as a positive player in the North London community. We’re funding and running new projects focused on three core areas that reflect William Ellis School and the local need – positive models of boyhood, improving community relationships, and developing an entrepreneurial mindset in tackling local challenges. By working with William Ellis School, the Trust is able to respond directly and quickly to some of the major problems affecting communities in North London, especially problems experienced by adolescent boys. William Ellis School has served the Camden community for over 150 years, so our strategy to improve the educational experience and develop an entrepreneurial culture for the boys there can have a deep and long-term impact for the whole area. We do our work through supporting the staff, students and wider community of parents and alumni of William Ellis School. By working directly with the school we have the means to have an immediate impact towards our goals. The William Ellis Trust is an abbreviated brand name for Birkbeck and William Ellis Schools Trust which is the full name of our registered charity (no. 1102334)
