About The Wingate Centre
The Wingate Centre, home to The Wingate Special Children's Trust CIO, offers subsidised tailored residential holiday experiences for schools, as well as holiday opportunities for groups supporting children and adults with physical and learning disabilities, those with neurodiversity, and disadvantaged children. These groups can enjoy an inclusive holiday experience, free from the limitations of home, in our safe and accessible environment. Our charity also offers enriching day activities for individuals and groups with SEND, as well as hosting activities for SEND schools and organisations. These activities could be in our 7,000-square-foot gymnasium, which includes a competition-size sprung floor, an in-floor trampoline, and assisted bikes. Additional facilities include a sensory room available for hire and a large recreational hall that hosts our popular SPARKS groups, including evening events. We also offer evening and weekend sports and social groups for school-aged children with SEND. In addition to our charitable programme, the Centre warmly invites the wider community to join in activities that directly support the charity and its mission. These include Mini Play, an active-play session in the gym for children under five, twice a week, as well as gymnastics sessions on select days for school-aged and pre-school children. Our facility also hosts local groups such as cheerleading and Pilates. The Sunshine Café, open to the public, provides another way to support our work, and our unique venue is available for children’s birthday parties. The sensory room, ideal for babies and toddlers, can also be booked for private sessions. Every booking at The Wingate Centre contributes directly to our mission, helping us provide meaningful day activities and holiday experiences for children and adults with SEND, as well as disadvantaged children, across the UK.
