Based in Preston, The 1-500 Club is the idea of Luke Massie, a local entrepreneur who spotted an opportunity to harness the significant buying power of the student community to help support local businesses. The 1-500 Club creates a member only online student community specific to UCLAN, Preston's own university. Within this community in addition to being able to access offers and discounts from local businesses, students will be able to buy, sell and swap items, find local jobs, access news items, games, competitions and chat using "The Vibe" a dedicated member only forum where students can talk to other students on their course or within the university.
