About Theatre Alberta

Theatre Alberta is dedicated to the growth and development of the Alberta theatre community and all its constituencies. We provide the highest quality services, support, programming, information and advocacy. We work to engage and foster meaningful relationships and partnerships between the professional, emerging, amateur and educational theatre communities. Theatre Alberta is a Provincial Arts Service Organization (PASO). We proudly represent over 1,100 members from across the province. Programs and Services Library – fully circulating with over 18,500 titles Artstrek – a residential theatre program for teens Dramaworks – an theatre workshop series for adults Playworks Ink – a weekend theatre conference co-presented with Alberta Playwrights’ Network Workshops by Request – for community theatres across the province Emerge – an annual audition event for graduating post-secondary actors Safe Stages – a publication and seminar for occupational Health and Safety awareness and education The Playbill – an annual poster of Alberta’s theatre season All Stages – a triannual print magazine Theatre Buzz – a monthly electronic update Publications – including the Community Theatre Handbook and the Theatre Facility Handbook Direct Support to Alberta Playwrights’ Network, Canadian Institute of Theatre Technology – Alberta Section, and the Alberta High School Drama Festival Association Information and Advocacy on local, provincial, and national fronts
