About Think Fungi

Think Fungi is a hub for the mushroom community. Our focus is three-fold: the education, conservation and research of fungi. With regards to education: we provide in-person and online workshops and courses on identifying wild mushrooms, cultivating mushrooms, mycology and more. For conservation, we actively work with local NGOs and non-profits to push for fungi conservation among the funga and flora conservation efforts. We also monitor woodlands for fungi poachers, and help educate the public on why they must conserve these fungi hotspots. In terms of research, Think Fungi collects and documents fungi species, for DNA sampling and for the purpose of creating a Fungarium. Think Fungi organized and hosted the Great North American FungiQuest which amassed over 150,000 observations by over 33,000 people of over 4,200 fungi species - in a one month period. In order to continue building on our three pillars, Think Fungi hosts an online community of hundreds of mycophiles interested in learning and growing together, while sharing anything that resonates with the mushroom community. It's entirely free to join for those interested, and allows for collaboration between mycophilic organizations and persons. Lastly, our e-shop lists a large number of mushroom products from books to decor, fashion to cultivation supplies, and more! All proceeds go towards our three pillars.
