About Thinking Bigger Leadership Forum
The Thinking Bigger Leadership (TBL) Forum is a national executive development program founded in 2019 by Robert Holden and Burt Woolf to create a supportive community of practice among an exclusive group (by-invitation-only) of rising-star leaders in mission-driven enterprises: educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, public agencies, socially responsible corporations, professional associations, etc. Based on nationally recognized and highly regarded models of visionary leadership developed by Robert Holden (Thinking Bigger) and Burt Woolf (Box of Possibilities), the TBL Forum focuses on the internal and external aspects of leadership: transactional excellence, transformative impact, organizational relationships, personal growth and career advancement. The Forum’s rigorous curriculum features hard-hitting thought stimulators delivered by Holden and Woolf to address key areas of executive leadership: getting the job done; making a bigger difference; empowering teams, realizing one's full potential, and professional growth. Nationally known thought leaders are invited to share insights with the participants regarding high-level executive topics, and Forum cohort members engage in deep-dive facilitated discussions regarding professional concerns and personal issues they face as leaders both in their work and in their careers. The 2022 inaugural cohort of 13 higher education executives (Directors, Executive Directors, AVP's) was convened virtually in a series of 5 online interactive sessions over the course of several months during the pandemic. Starting in 2023, Forum cohorts will meet in person in an intensive multi-day annual program followed by regular virtual meetings throughout the year. Robert Holden and Burt Woolf host and co-facilitate the Forum. They bring decades of experience leading, advising, mentoring, empowering, and coaching executives in higher education and mission-driven organizations.
