We are an innovative materials company using our R&D into inverse vulcanised polymers to create next generation heavy metal sorbents. Our inverse vulcanised coatings can offer industry leading cost to performance ratios in absorbing heavy metals, whilst being provided in a format adapted to meet end user specifications conveniently, all while offering sustainability and recyclability advantages. Because of their high sulfur content, our inverse vulcanised coatings can selectively absorb gold or mercury from aqueous, hydrocarbon, or gaseous streams. Gold is of high value and its recovery is of high profitability. Meanwhile mercury has awful effects on the environment, wildlife and human lives, and sorbent technologies are required to prevent environmental release of mercury from anthropogenic sources, in line with tightening regulations. ThioTech's inverse vulcanised coatings are effective at absorbing mercury, even at low concentrations, where other sorbents fail to perform, and our materials convert mercury to harmless cinnabar, suitable for landfill, offering dramatic cost savings in spent material disposal.
